The most significant change in 1970 was the removal of the outside headlights, replaced by 2 slots on each side.

Production of Shelby Mustangs ceased in 1970 (and would not reappear until 2006 with the 2006 Shelby GT-H). The 1970 Shelby Mustangs (GT350 and GT500) were actually 1969 models; the 1969 VIN tags were removed and replaced with 1970 VIN tags, apparently under the supervision of the FBI.
