Ford introduced a unique-to-1995 GTS model which was actually a stripped-DOWN version of the GT. It only included performance parts like the engine and suspension of the GT but none of the styling pieces. A removal hard top became available for the Cobra convertible. A special Cobra R was also produced, featuring a 5.8 L V8 producing 300 hp and required a sturdier 5-speed transmission than on other models. Other than these changes, the 1995 Mustang lineup remained unchanged from the 1994 lineup.
