Ford introduced the fifth-generation Mustang in 2005. The fifth-generation Mustang is visibilly designed after the late 1960s Mustang fastbacks, notably the 1968-1968 models. Ford continued to utilize a live axle rear suspension in the fifth-generation Mustang, a point of which it received much criticism for. The base Mustang used a 4.0 L V6 which produced 210 hp and 240lb-ft of torque. The Mustang GT used a 4.6 L V8 that produced 300 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque.
