In 2007, the Shelby GT500 was resurrected (it was last produced in 1970) and it didn’t disappoint. The GT500 featured extensive modifications from normal Mustangs the most significant of which is the engine. A 5.4L supercharged V8 is the heart of the GT500 and it beats strong with 500 hp and 490 ft·lbf of torque. Other modifications include 6-speed manual transmission, upgraded suspension, and new body panels. The GT500 was produced for 3 years (2007, 2008, and 2009) and approximately 10,000 units were produced each year. Also, a convertible version of the Shelby GT-H was offered at Hertz for rental in 2007.
